THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INSTITUTIONAL STRATEGIC QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION ISQM 2011 (14-16 of July 2011, Sibiu - Romania)
During 14-16th of July 2011, the Third International Conference Institutional Strategic Quality Management – ISQM 2011 took place in Sibiu, under the patronage of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS). This conference was financed from the European Social Fund within the Sectoral Operational Program for Human Resources Development entitled “Quality assurance in the Romanian higher education in European context. Development of academic quality management at system and institutional level” (contract no.: POSDRU/2/1.2/S/1).
More than 80 experts in the field of quality assurance in higher education from Romania and abroad participated to ISQM 2011. The Conference was the host of 20 international participants representing 14 countries (Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Russia). Also, international organizations like European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) were represented at ISQM 2011. Romanian participants came from public and private universities, with military, arts, engineering, economic and medical background.
ISQM 2011 agenda comprised a series of activities organized in parallel sessions and numerous papers on challenges and problems of quality assurance in higher education in Romania and Europe were presented. The registered papers for ISQM 2011 were reviewed by the members International Scientific Committee of the Conference. Fifty papers were proposed to be included in the Conference Proceedings. The authors are directly responsible for the content and originality of each paper.
The workshop „Learning outcomes and quality management” chaired by experts from Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, Latvia and Romania was held in the second day of the Conference. The attendance included participants, experts and guests.
