The general aim of the strategic project Quality assurance in the Romanian higher education in European context. Development of academic quality management at system and institutional level – ACADEMIS is the development and implementation of an efficient system of quality assurance and management, at system level, as well as at the level of higher education institutions by carrying out the transfer of good practice, consolidation of a set of evaluation methodologies in compliance with European standards and creation of a panel of experts in the field of quality.
The project directly answers the requirements identified within the Sectoral Operational Programme for Resources Development, Priority Axis 1, key area of intervention 1.2. ”Quality in higher education”.

• Developing and implementing the quality assurance system in universities, including staff development
• Improving academic management and increasing higher education institutions’ capacity to provide higher qualifications adapted to the changing requirements of the labour market;
• Improving Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in compliance with the National Framework of Qualifications in Higher Education
• Improving the “Quality Methodologies and Guides on academic quality assurance” at the level of subject areas according to the “National Framework of Qualifications”; integrating sustainable development principles at the level of tools, methodologies, teaching and learning activities and processes in order to increase awareness on environment and pollution prevention issues
• Developing and implementing the quality assurance system in universities by forming a critical mass of internal and external evaluators of academic quality.
• Internal and external evaluation according to the methodology of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies of accredited universities involved in the project;
• Developing managerial capacities of accredited universities involved in the project in the field of quality assurance;
• Exploring the impact of academic quality culture on the universities’ involvement in economic, social and cultural development programmes of communities
